update $ENV{REMOTE_USER}

Hi,

I have sampleClient.pl(CGI script) script which calls a perl module and does
some validations.

The question is How can I update the $ENV{REMOTE_USER} variable withing the
sampleClient.pl.

My install perl module is a generic perl module,

Is this something possible
