UTF-8 patches have been submitted to the Interchange CVS. The UTF-8 support
is currently definitely not ready for production.

The prospective status of UTF-8 support is that it will be completed in
time to be released with Interchange 5.6.0. 

The ICDEVGROUP plans to start the beta release cycle for 5.6.0 in a few
weeks, hopefully resulting in a production release two months down the road.
