For those using Gentoo, are you using the hardened 
project  http://hardened.gentoo.org ?
I am thinking about upgrading hardware, and replacing a Gentoo system 
that has been running great for about 5 years.

If not hardened, then do you have a specific method that doesn't 
require weekly or monthly upgrades?
