Many errors like the one below were written to the error.log file: 500 Can't connect to api-3t.paypal.com:443 (Bad hostname 'api-3t.paypal.com') Best regards,I'm not sure that this is a timeout rather than a DNS issue, asPeter noted, so I'll think about this alteration. What will improve this module though is the new one which adds IPNs and recurring/subscription billing. This means that Paypal events separated in time from the original transaction can be tied back to it in the Interchange database. And that subscriptionscan be logged and integrated into the system properly.I hope to get some time to finish this to the testing point this or next week. Any volunteers for testing are welcome. I also hope finish the GoogleCheckout module this week, and then I suppose I had better make time for the updated Protx module ...Ton -- Alamerce Nederland --- Cornerstone of eBusiness Phone +31-40-2374381 suppressed http://www.alamerce.nleCommerce Solutions -- Consulting -- Website & Interchange Hosting- Cheers Lyn St George #----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- # http://www.zolotek.net eCommerce: develop, host, support # tel: +44-20-8205 8788 IM: suppressed #----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------ Message: 4 Date: Mon, 09 Jul 2007 22:48:24 +0200 From: Ton Verhagen <suppressed> Subject: Re: [ic] PaypalExpress.pm: improvements To: suppressed Message-ID: <suppressed> Content-Type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii"; format=flowed Quoting Lyn, At 09:20 PM 7/9/2007, you wrote:On Fri, 06 Jul 2007 15:56:07 +0200, Ton Verhagen wrote:Dear All, When using Lyn's PaypalExpress.pm payment module we encountered frequent problems connecting to PayPal. The connection to the host is not of the best quality (at least connecting from The Netherlands.). We tried IP instead of hostname as well with the same results. Please check with your network tools and I am sure you will encounter same issues as we did. However, connecting from a host located in the US is less prone to this issue I guess... Anyhow, applying the retry patch solved all issues with this host for us. :) Best regards, Ton -- Alamerce Nederland --- Cornerstone of eBusiness Phone +31-40-2374381 suppressed http://www.alamerce.nleCommerce Solutions -- Consulting -- Website & Interchange Hosting------------------------------ Message: 5 Date: Tue, 10 Jul 2007 06:54:24 +0200 From: "Stefan Hornburg (Racke)" <suppressed> Subject: Re: [ic] PaypalExpress.pm: improvements To: suppressed Message-ID: <suppressed> Content-Type: text/plain; charset=ISO-8859-1; format=flowed Ton Verhagen wrote:Quoting Lyn, At 09:20 PM 7/9/2007, you wrote:On Fri, 06 Jul 2007 15:56:07 +0200, Ton Verhagen wrote:Dear All, When using Lyn's PaypalExpress.pm payment module we encountered frequent problems connecting to PayPal. If domain resolves fine but connection has troubles, it should say something different then "Bad hostname". Regards Racke
