[ic] Exclude product from ENTIRE_ORDER discount?

Hi ICers,

Is there a simple way to exclude specific products from and ENTIRE_ORDER 
discount? I know how I can do it using embedded perl to take the 
subtotal of the items in question out of the order subtotal before 
discounting the order, but I'm wondering if there's a simpler way to do 
it at the item level.

I don't want items such as gift certificates to be discounted, for 
obvious reasons.
