[ic] Glimpse searching

Hello all:
Need a little help with Glimpse searching.
I use Glimpse and it returns searches fast (3 seconds) on my 8000 item
database using something like this:

[area scan
         sf=type
         st=glimpse
         ml=10
         dl=whatever]

However, I need to search a field "new" that has just one numeric char -
either a 0 or a 1. When I try to use glimpse, it fails because "Search
strings must be at least 4 characters". So I added "ms" like this:

[area scan
         sf=new
         st=glimpse
         ml=10
         ms=1
         dl=1]

This creates a "server error". Without Glimpse this search takes 20
seconds - unacceptable. Any ideas?
