A WHM (web hosting manager) should be provided with your cpanel if you have dedicated server. There is a function for generating CSR and installing SSL in the WHM. It's so easy to use. You can do it yourself without any problem. These were discussions in this list. Many people found it's almost impossible to manage interchange without telnet access. These is document in the interchange FQA talking the necessty of telent access for using interchange. It may be a good idea to take a look at msihosting.com where you may find every thing you need. Can someone who has experience installing SSL certificates please help? I would like to add SSL to my Interchange site which is hosted by webhostxl.com on a dedicated server. The company has said that they will install the certificate for free, however, when I went to order the certificate (from instantssl.com) they say that the first step in ordering is to create a Certificate Signing Request using the following command: openssl req –new –nodes -keyout myserver.key –out server.csr O.K., I can do that on my local computer, but doesn't the private key need to be created and reside on the server that hosts the site? I could run the command on the dedicated server, but my hosting plan doesn't include telnet access. My goal is to secure checkout.html, account.html, and the admin UI. Can someone suggest the best way to go about this? I would appreciate any help.
