Re: [cgiapp] Plucene or Xapian?

I used Glimpse/WebGlimpse (http://webglimpse.net/). I liked it because it provided context of the match. And it was pre-indexed and blazingly fast.

The downside is that the developer/owner is in a strange middle-ground between open source and commercial. The system was designed by a student at UofA. It was free to use back then. Somehow this developer got ahold of it. I think, at least initially, there was a royalty paid to UofA. She charges for the software, but solicits developer contributions.

However, for commercial purposes, the cost is well worth the functionality.
