I've normally used XML::Simple in the past, but it's not really that simple.
I've just heard about the new XML::Tiny that is supposed to be much smaller, use
less memory and just use core modules. It might be worth checking out.
But these days I actually use mostly JSON to send data to Ajax applications.
Much faster and much easier imo.
