This sounds very interesting, and is a good chance to improve the reputation of Perl in general and CGI::Application in particular. Are there people here are already in Europe in representing Perl / CGI::App? Rhesa? Cees, interested in visiting the family over there? :) I think we should make it a priority to get a team over there.
I would be more than willing to participate. Germany is not that far away and I even speak some Deutche :D But I'm starting with military service on 8th December and duration is 9 months - it's a civil service (you sleep at home - go to 08-16/09-17 each work day but without paycheck). Even if I would be alowed to leave the country (you get enough free days) I still don't have the other 2 guys/gals :( I know of only few other Perl programmers in Serbia (not Siberia in Russia :), and only contact via IM with one of them ...
I expect some businesses and organizations would be interested in helping to covers costs to make sure Perl was well represented there. The one thing about the 30 hour deadline is that it would be tempting to stay awake for the whole time, which I would be horrible at. Of course, if Rhesa is on the team, he's already on a different schedule anyway. :)
That 30 hours is quite strange don't you think? I'm not clear on if it's 30 hours total development time (in say two days) or all in one? If it's all-in-one-go organizers are risking a lot of future talk about it ... Either way - get some coffee based products from ThinkGeek :D
From the requirements posted, it sounds like a graphic designer /usability person would also be helpful to have on the team, regardless of the language. Mark
