We need a project name.

[snip list of reasons we're stuck with C::A]

For the clients I go after, they have only a passing interest in
the technologies I use; they want to know if I can build what they
want, how much it will cost, and when it will be operational.

+1 to that (except backwards: when, how much and *then* what technology)

If your client (or S.O.) seems unimpressed with the flash and dazzle quotient of the name of your application development framework, invite them to hire (or date) a Ruby on Rails or Java Struts programmer and then call you back when they want something that is mature, powerful and works.

One that I can say to my significant other without untangling an
acronym.

I am reminded of the story about an engineer trying to explain the
bubbles in carbonated soda to his 3-year old son -- states of matter,
aqueous solutions, super saturation, etc. It's better just to say
"they put the bubbles in at the factory to tickle your nose".

I tell my wife that graphic designers make websites, and then I make them *work*. I used to tell her that I was a perl hacker, but then one day she asked why I never hacked *her* any pearls...
