Let's not. I advocate trying an "intelligent default" (as all three have done)
and sticking with it until we understand why it breaks. This seems like
the kind of little decision that users would have rather have made on
their behalf, assuming it's something sane and has the flexibility to
override, which all I think describes all three proposals.
