[cgiapp] Marketing

It was interesting to read that one of the main topics discussed at the recent event was marketing. Certainly it took me an age to latch on to all the great work on C::A and I wish I hadn't spent so much time brewing my own version. Is this something that everyone should go through to appreciate the work of others or just get on and use it?

Marketing, Better marketing, PR, call it what you want, should benefit us all in some way - all eminating from wider use of C:A. These (off the top of my head) might include:

1. More users contributing to the development - better code, new ideas ....
2. More applications running on C:A that we can integrate into our apps (content management springs to mind as an example)
3. More influence on other related projects (e.g. CGI:Session as a current example)
4. Better recognition of developer skills (bigger salary)
5. Availability of skilled C:A developers to employ (bigger projects)
6. Ability for the community to attract funding for future projects (a conference perhaps?)

There are loads of ways of marketing but I think one of the most important signs that something is "for real" is the availability of a book. Yes you can read it all on-line/pod/wiki etc but nothing quite beats reading a real book on the train, on the breakfast table, on ..... just about anything other than skiis or a surfboard.

Imagine my surprise this morning when I checked out my book recommendations on amazon to see this appear.

Is anyone planning to do something similar? I am happy to help with a couple of pages if anyone is.
