[cgiapp] Dynamic charts?

How do/would you create dynamic charts?  I haven't done this yet, so 
what comes to mind is using the GD::Graph package to output a PNG file 
on the Web server (making sure the web server can write to the file) and 
in the HTML::Template, refer to that PNG file statically.
