Now I probably understand... You are using Windows and you installed the
CGI::Application::ValidateRM PPM package, whose latest available version
is 1.05, right?

If so, install the latest CA::ValidateRM, or rather CAP::ValidateRM,
version (respectively 1.12 and 1.22), via cpan (better) or by /manually/
downloading it from CPAN: they're pure-perl modules and will install
under Windows without any problem.

Yes you are quite correct, I use Windows ActivePerl for development, and yes I had the PPM version 1.05 installed. I now have the CPAN version of CAP::ValidateRM and it worked instantly. I also notice that v1.22 has the same change to using either a scalar or scalarref $return_page that I put into my local patch. Perhaps I am progressing faster than I thought! Thanks for your help.
