Hello,
Today I came across some more similar projects to CGI::App, which I
thought would be interesting to discuss here.
The first one I found was "CGI::Ex":
http://search.cpan.org/dist/CGI-Ex/
My comments are based on reviewing the documentation-- I haven't tried
it yet myself.
The "Ex" just stands for "Extension". It has built-in form validation
from CGI::Ex::Validate. It also provides form-refilling by way
CGI::Ex::Fill. It claims to be faster than HTML::FillInForm.
It also integrates config file reading, using 'YAML' by default.
Template::Toolkit is the default templating system used. It also seems
to be modperl aware. It also has a built-in error handling method.
Another framework called "CGI::Path" is based on "CGI::Ex":
http://search.cpan.org/dist/CGI-Path
It uses session handling to keep track of where a user is in the "path",
which may be a sequence of HTML forms that need to be filled out.
