I'm definitely intrigued by the idea of building applications without
reloading pages all the time. I plan to look into this more. The most
impressive web application interface I've used is NetLedger [1].

They make heavy use of this kind of functionality that allows you to
make changes on a page with without reloading. It makes for a smoother
user experience and faster work flow.
I expect to this functionality to become a standard tool for
professionals building hi-end websites. Of course, it does have the
drawback of depending on functionality in the browser, bringing in a new
set of issues to addresses.
Still, it's a fine choice for intranets or administrative interfaces
where it's reasonable to require that a modern web browser is used.
I'll post more once I get around to checking out the software.
