WWW::Mechanize, in conjunction with Test::More and the other Test::*
modules, is all you need. It's basically a LWP robot, that you can program
to fill out forms to succeed or fail, and then note the results. I
subclass it, with the subclass having methods for certain navigations/form
actions so I can easily test them multiple times.
See http://qa.perl.org/test-modules.html for a list of the Test::* modules.

Subject: [cgiapp] Web site testing

Hello all,
We have several large sites that are using CGI::App and we are very unhappy
with our current testing methods which consist of trying to do everything a
stupid user would do to try and break the app and then fixing problems as
they
occur. This isn't that bad for smaller apps but for larger stuff it get's
to
be a headache. We are looking for a way to automate the testing. So I
thought
I would ask this question here. Because our sites are dynamic and the links
are usually generated automatically I didn't think a simple link checker
would
work. How are other people testing their large apps? Any favorite resources
or
sites to read?
