Re: [cgiapp] New logo for CGI::App FAQ wiki

I got response from O'Reilly about using camel for logo.

Basically they allow us to use camel in logo on condition
that we will not use logo on t-shirts and mugs.

I never planned to use the logo on anything else except web site,
so it is fine with me. If somebody has other plans, please say so now.
I'll wait until next monday (12/1) and if no objections, will ask
Evan to make final design #1 and design #5 (when he has time).
I like #1 with words as big logo, and #5 as smaller banner button.
(For my web site, I need a logo with proportions as #1)

Thank you all - especially Evan :-)

Hi, Peter-

We're cool with user groups and non-commercial web sites using
the camel in their logos, but making t-shirts (even t-shirts sold at
cost)
crosses a line for us from a logo to a product. So if you think you'll
want t-shirts or coffee mugs with the logo on it, I'd advise against
using the camel image for your logo, because we won't be able to
give you permission to do that. If you decide that you won't create
any t-shirts or other printed collateral using the camel image,
then you may use the camel in your logo, but only for non-commercial
purposes.

If you do choose to use the camel on your web page (which you
may do), please include the following text somewhere on the page
(it can be small), and make our company name a link to our home
page (www.oreilly.com).

"The use of a camel with the topic of Perl is a trademark of O'Reilly
& Associates, Inc. Used with permission."

Thanks for checking with us and for your support of Perl. Let me
know if you have any further questions.
