If you've got something which works, ignore my code and stick with 
your solution.

At the same time, keep investigating possibilities and alternatives. 

As for 'the right approach', different approaches will be 'right' in 
different situations. Once you've built a rock-solid solution, It's 
very easy to automatically adopt that for the next project, and the 
next, and... But that does not mean it's always the 'right' solution 
for the new problem.

Unfortunately, being a Perl programmer is just like being a shark - 
you have to keep moving forward to survive. Stop, and you start to 
sink!
