Hello Eric, You ought to write a success story for perl.apache.org in your spare time! It'd be great to have a CGI::App example. I'm not yet familiar enough with mod_perl and Apache::DBI to offer much in the way of advice. However, I can say that I have not had any problems with my db connections so far. Personally, I would suspect timeout errors may be a problem with that remote db. Are your db failures usu. the remote db or the local db? Have you done any stress-testing of the remote db server from the local server? I believe there are some sample scripts at perl.apache.org that you could modify.
