My opinion(!) on this is: SNMP is fine if the target device already
runs an SNMP agent that delivers the MIBs you require. Otherwise it's
not easier to setup an SNMP agent than to setup a BigSister agent.

So to speak, SNMP for accessing lm_sensors via BigSister does not
sound like a good idea, since you then would have to first setup an
SNMP agent, then to configure this SNMP agent so that it is providing
access to lm_sensors metrics, then on top of that run BigSister.

It is, of course, a good idea if you already have done all that :-))
