May I suggest a much easier road: use SNMP. I have written some testers, that are available for download from the BigSister site. Using SNMP also has the great feature that it works remotely, i.e. you don't need to install any BigSister agents. I have a setup where I have one BigSister server that monitors some 75 servers (Linux, Solaris, Windows) and another 50 network devices (mostly Cisco). No agents are installed anywhere, and I don't feel that I am missing anything. And I have one central configuration only to maintain! /Niels -- Niels Baggesen - @home - Århus - Denmark - suppressed The purpose of computing is insight, not numbers --- R W Hamming ------------------------------------------------------------------------- This SF.net email is sponsored by: Microsoft Defy all challenges.
