I would start by separating the 'network' uxmon test to a line by itself

host-t1    ping
host-t1    interface=~bridge network

then wait/watch bigsister server to be sure the ping test is working
correctly. ie, shows green, collects statistics, etc.

then you can separately work on the 'network' test.

remember, any equates (for example "interface=~bridge") go before the test
name (as I've shown above)
