The Perl used is Activestate Perl. Should I try another method? The problem seems to be more with Perl than with cygrunsrv I think. for instance, cygrunsrv is used for openSSH as well and I can easily start and stop that. But with bigsister it seems to not get any feedback when it stops, but then a while later nevertheless starts a new instance, so I get them all twice. I don't have any other Perl daemons on Windows that I could test against. On the Perl RRDTool module: There is much confusing information to be found on the net. What exactly do we need for this? for instance: http://search.cpan.org/search?query=rrdtool&mode=all There's no "normal" rrdtool module listed. Searching Google mentions an RRDs.pm and when I search CPAN for RRDs I get this one: http://search.cpan.org/~mschilli/Log-Log4perl-1.09/lib/Log/Log4perl/ Appender/RRDs.pm is this the correct one? I then just wonder how the logging is done now since RRD logging obviously works. > > > [using the stats from the DB] > > Installing R is worth it, the data is used by bshistgraph and also > you'll find an export function, there. I see. I started last month, but when I read what I need to do to get it installed on Windows I stopped for now. > > Using the data in your own program is an option ... So, if I put the data in a MySQL db nothing from bigsister will use it? Is this understanding correct? It's only there so I can access it from another application? So, if I don't want to do this, I don't need to enable it. This is not how I read the documentation. I thought it's an alternative to storing the data in flat files.
