Go for MySQL, I'm sure there is something wrong in your DB definition for DBD 
or maybe in BigSister. Anyway, troubleshooting it will take some time and I 
can confirm that MySQL works. See below for more.

That is the clue that you get no data. I saw this for the first two minutes or 
so until bigsister created the tables and put data in them. Only if the page 
can retrieve data you will see something in the drop down. And there can be 
quite a few reasons why it can't get any data, that why I suggest going MySQL. 
It's easy to setup and troubleshoot.

because there is no data to send.

I don't think this is of any relevance, it's empty here as well.

The page will display this warning once it gets data, the histgraphs are done 
with these tools not with rrdtool.

I'll check if I get going with your comments about bsgraph.
