I am monitoring several window 2003 servers. One of
these servers would not report when I configured it to use network. I
looked at everything. I tried starting uxmon from the console and it showed
everything being monitored except network. My big sister server showed
network with no defined interfaces being monitored (purple). I tried removing and reinstalling the big sister
agent. I first stopped the service, then removed the agent after making
sure no uxmon processes were running. After reinstallation the server
does not seem to report to the big sister server. When I run uxmon from
the commandline I get an error “no valid bsdisplay – try using
something like ‘yourhost bsdisplay’ in uxmon-net. In my
uxmon-net file I have specified 192.0.1.8 bsdisplay.
I think the big sister agent may be looking somewhere other then c:\program
files\bigsister\adm for the config file. I tried specifying uxmon –c
“c:\program files\bigsister\adm\uxmon-net”, but this didn’t
seem to help. Paul F. Borowicz Behavior Corp. Network Administrator 317-587-0521 |
