I have already managed to get my PABX to dial a pre-defined number and play a pre-recorded msg whenever my monitored network undergo a connection status change. This has been achieved using the paging functionality in BigSister. Now I would like to tell the name of the system undergoing the status change as well as whether the change is UP or DOWN. My question is: Does BigSister pass the name of the system and the UP/DOWN direction when it calls the pager script specified in /etc/bigsister/bb_event_generator.cfg ? My guess is that it does since the e-mail sent contains, amongst others, also that data. My experiments with this are as follows: Assuming I have the line *.conn mail=<my-PABX-script>:<anything>,sendmail:<my-email-adddr> in /etc/bigsister/bb_event_generator.cfg, the <my-PABX-script> receives <anything> as a parameter, but nothing else. Since that line works for any system undergoing the status change, I can not use <anything> as a means to convey system specific information. Does somebody know how can I make the pager to get the system + connection status direction or failing that, how to make the pager to get the same message body sendmail receives? Thanks for your help. Costa ___________________________________________________________ All New Yahoo! Mail ? Tired of suppressed@! come-ons?
