i just graph a few machines with the appropriate motherboards:

        /sbin/sysctl -n hw.acpi.thermal.tz0.temperature
        /usr/local/bin/mbmon -T 1 -c 1

Those are both FreeBSD commands.  YMWV for Linux, I'm sure.
