How that? I do not understand. Do you mean: You see many status changes? Of how many systems are we talking? If for any reason the display is changing very often, this may actually cause troubles, since a display update takes quite some CPU time. Also, check if you have set the "-ImmediateHTML" option in bb-display.cfg - if it is set to on (leading "+") then this will cause much additional I/O. Also, image maps are rather CPU consuming (unfortunately). Are you using image maps? Also, have a look at the system performance (top): Is the system heavily loaded or is just bsmon slow without actually putting load on the system? In this case check if you have disabled DNS resolution in bb-display.cfg (something like "%Option -DNS"). Last but not least, if you really really get a performance problem, you could think about moving the /var/lib/bigsister/ directory onto a fast media like e.g. tmpfs. Of course, you'd have to think about how you initialize the directory after a reboot - e.g. copy over the original /var/lib/bigsister. I'd be interested in knowing what actually causes your performance troubles, that's why I'm explicitly asking/mentioning so many things that have performance impacts.
