Is this the machine where you are running both an agent and the server, or are you running the server on each of the machines? Perl 5.8.0 with UTF-8 is definitely a problem ... anyway, if you were hit by this problem there were more than just graphing that wouldn't work. So, maybe it *is* an Perl/UTF-8 problem, but it is not too probable. So, first thing to know is if the problem is on server or on agent side. Please have a look at your /var/lib/bigsister directory. Please run a tail -f `sed -e 's/://g' /var/lib/bigsister/status.log` and watch if you get lines saying something like .... perf .... <yourhostname> ... If yes, then the agent is sending perf messages and they make it to the server. If not, there is most probably a problem on the agent side. In both cases it's worth having a look into /var/log/messages and see if you see some alarming bigsister (uxmon/bsmon/bbd) messages. So far for now.
