Hi,I am trying to use bigsister to monitor my ISP in addition to my own systems.
So I have set up bigsister hosts : smtp.myprovider.net pop.myprovider.net (where myprovider is the real domain of my ISP) I then use bigsister checks in uxmon-net: pop.myprovider.net ping pop3 smtp.myprovider.net ping smtpThe problem is I then get a purple for the conn column of pop.myprovider.net (all the others are green)
It seems the problem is that pop.myprovider.net and smtp.myprovider.net actually resolve to the same IP address and the code in ping.pm creates a hashtable keyed by the ip address hence only one ping gets done.
So, Is this a bug or a feature? What should I do about it?Of course I could just combine the hosts into a single one but I'm not really supposed to know how my ISP arranges its services.
Or I could delete one of pings but then I can't differentiate between service unavailable and machine unavailable.
