*.* down=purple in bb_event_generator.cfg would cause a page to go out on
purple.

I think the sequnce is
0 - red
1 - yellow
2 - purple
3 - green
4 - blue
5 - black
6 - white ("Maintenance")

BS apparently generates "pages" on UP to DOWN transitions, and DOWN to UP
transitions.
What is UP to DOWN, and DOWN to UP, is configurable. Once a page (alert) has
been generated for a check transitioning from UP to DOWN, it apparently
won't generate a new page (alert) if the condition worsens. It is possible
to configure reminders at fixed intervals, however.
