Hi there, I'm monitoring aproximatly 200 systems with bigsister. And one if the tests that I do is a ping connection test once every 5 minutes to each system. This results in a bit of a peak in network traffic when the ping test is done. And since some of my valued co-network administrators installed a firewall with ping flood protection in place, I get a couple of red dot's. Well ok I have about 20 green dot's left because the firewall redirects the bigger part of the ping traffic towards /dev/null. This resulted in a very nice although slightly heated discussion between me and aforementioned firewall administrator. Bottem line is I need to figure out a way to spread the ping test out over a bigger period of time. Is this possible? Regards Rob p.s. Due to some communications via upper management the firewall configuration will be slightly adjusted for a limited period of time, big sister will work again, but I was told to find another solution, please help. ------------------------------------------------------- SF email is sponsored by - The IT Product Guide Read honest & candid reviews on hundreds of IT Products from real users.
