Somone else already suggested installing SNMP, however, may I also offer a suggestion based on my own experience.
Don't call the snmp test at all. Instead, set the "remote" feature for the system and use etherport, net, and other tests and have them call the SNMP layer. This seems to be a lot less problematic.
ie: DESCR features=remote managedswitch managedswitch community=public etherport managedswitch community=public warnload=80% networkYou can also use the interface specifier on these tests to restrict what interfaces it will use, it even supports regex if you start with a tilde.
ie: here's a regex I use to monitor all numbered interfaces, except 11 on a Cisco switch (uses naming like GigaBitEthernet0/9):
interface=~\/(?!11)\d It basically just looks for a / followed by a number, but won't match /11 ------------------------------------------------------- SF email is sponsored by - The IT Product Guide Read honest & candid reviews on hundreds of IT Products from real users.
