if you make changes in a config file and save them, the file will be checked every minute (AFAIK) and will then be reloaded. a message will be put into syslog.
so just have a look at your syslog ( /var/log/syslog )
my experience is that the changes of the config file bb_event_generator.cfg will only take effect on new events.
