[cgiapp] CGI::App based site... sorta...

This is simply a moment for me to report on the success of the CGI::App
framework in rolling out a large site. We've been developing since July, 2004,
and did our initial rollout towards the beginning of last month.

The 'sorta' is that it's written in PHP, using the Cgiapp PHP class I developed
and have reported on in this list. And, in fact, it's several sites:

    http://www.garden.org
    http://assoc.garden.org/about
    http://www.nationalgardenmonth.org

These three sites are written entirely using Cgiapp. We use a common superclass
that contains logic for placing content in the site template, generating the
navbar, generating an optional commercebar, and much more. The sites combined
receive over 2.5 million hits per month. We will be rolling out additional sites
and functionality in the coming months, all based on the same framework.

While it's not in perl, I still think it's a testament to CGI::Application's
flexibility. My PHP port is a pretty much verbatim port (though it's lagging
behind in some features, notably the plugin architecture; that's planned for the
next major release); I feel that CGI::Application is more about being a
flexible, extensible framework for web development than it is about the language
in which it's done.

So, consider this a big thank you from the National Gardening Association to the
CGI::Application community!
