Re: [cgiapp] Single sign on examples?

Alas, there are still a few of us (just me?) using standard CGI rather than
mod_perl

Dan

Nope, Dan. Not just you -- me too. And I probably should mention that we're on a shared University box, too. So CGI through a wrapper at that. :-) Although I actually don't mind that part, since it forces my scripts to run as me instead of the webserver.

Didn't someone message the list today about a new plugin to handle
authentication? That would be a start. I'm still of the opinion to keep this code outside of your apps by writing a mod_perl plugin which will do the authentication. I'd think that you could use almost the identical code, it's just a matter of where it will be executed (which leads to the discussion about the pros/cons for the two methods). See the wiki[1] for more details
(and update it as you learn more).

Cheers!
William

I did look at the authentication plugin, and will look again, but I noticed that it required the "callback" version of CGI::App. Not sure if I'm quite ready to go with that for my production stuff, but I'll look again.

Thanks for the wiki reminder. I had checked the mail archives, but forgot about that.

Jaclyn
